PACE Library

PACE Health Sciences Library

The University of Queensland School of Pharmacy was relocated from the St Lucia Campus to a new building on the Princess Alexandra Hospital Site.  Design Nest was engaged to design the PACE Library. In addition to the traditional book collection, the library offers a diverse range of seating and group work options, as well as eZone teaching spaces and a virtual library.

The library responds to the many differing ways that students learn and interact with facilities allowing quiet individual work, through to group work in both concentrated and collaborative activities. Private laptop use is encouraged with wireless data and power points made available throughout the library. Fixed computers are available in carrels and seminar rooms.

A colonade of bespoke timber screen booths and highbacked Alcove sofas create a central spine of study nooks down the main circuation space with transparent group rooms with floor to ceiling writable spaces on the other side.
